Question:
Set up the Android Emulator

An Android emulator is mainly an Android Virtual Device (AVD) that is for a specific Android device. This emulator helps you to run and test your application by setting up AVD. It will test your application build for any device including PC, mobile, tablet, and TV.

That being said, developing an application with an Android emulator is not required. Before utilizing an Android emulator, you should be aware of the following important details.

  • To build apps, an Android emulator is not required.

  • The installation of the Android emulator happens automatically when RDA Studio is installed.

  • During the product installation process, we advise you to install an Android emulator.

  • Because the Android emulator is the default target when creating an Android app, you can build and run apps on your development system with ease.

  • If you're creating your own Android emulator, make sure it's optimized for every device you intend to use with your apps.

We have talked about this in our blog on> how to get Android 13 and set up Android 13 SDK RAD supports the below-given targets.

  • Android devices with ARM version 7 or higher.

  • Android emulator with version 4.0 or lower.

Note that you can’t use an Android emulator on a Virtual Machine (VM). Android emulator might even run on a virtual machine but it will not run on an app.

You can set up an Android emulator on any device including mobile, tablet larger devices, or TV. An Android emulator can be set up for building an application with React Native, Angular, Laravel, or any other software development framework.
